Grafton is the commercial hub of the Clarence River Valley.
Our client, a government agency in Grafton, is seeking a GIS Technician to ensure their GIS information is correctly captured, maintained and made accessible to the organisation and general public.
Reporting to the GIS Administrator, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Coordinating spatial data collection projects.
- Liaising with and provide spatial data to consultants.
- Deriving new or upgraded spatial datasets from existing spatial data.
- Developing new procedures for improved spatial processing times and developing software tools to assist with GIS activities.
- Creating of mapping products and information for the public and internal Council staff.
- Process GIS and property enquiries and where necessary refer to the appropriate person.
- Providing GIS support to Emergency Services.
The successful candidate will have a Diploma in GIS or Spatial Science discipline and 5 years experience in spatial information management.
Working in a team environment, you will have excellent communication skills and be able to assist other GIS users.
A NSW Driver’s license is essential.
